- By Train: Take a train to Canning, the nearest railway station (about 45 km from Sundarbans), followed by a road journey to Godkhali.
- By Road: Drive or hire a taxi to Godkhali, the primary entry point to the Sundarbans. Regular buses also operate from Kolkata to nearby towns like Basanti.
- By Water: From Godkhali, ferries and motorboats take you deeper into the Sundarbans, connecting you to resorts, villages, and key attractions.
Best Time to Visit
Sundarbans
The Sundarbans is best explored between October and March, when the weather is cool and dry, making wildlife spotting easier and boat safaris more enjoyable. Winter months are also ideal for bird watching as migratory species arrive during this time.
